The power went out causing me to lose my work
"When I was in college, I was using my lap top to write and store my papers on. This was before the invention of the thumb drive, so I would keep my papers in a special folder on my computer's hard drive. Everything worked fine until my senior year when I had to begin writing my dissertation for graduation. I had worked for several weeks gathering information and getting ready to write the paper. One night I sat down to write the paper and there was a horrible rain storm out. Just as I had finished writing the paper, I went to save it and the power went out, causing me to lose over half of the twenty page paper I had just written! I tried to recover the data and get someone to help me but it was gone forever. I had to rewrite the paper and try to capture my thoughts from the previous paper. "
