Save the last step work
"As a student in a graphic design program at a major university, I know the importance of meeting project deadlines. You've got to have your work ready for critique and excuses are not allowed. I met my deadlines 99.9% of the time, except for one such occasion two years ago. During the fall semester of 2006 I was working on a project on my macintosh computer that was a major part of my semester grade. This project could either make or break this particular class and the deadline was right around the corner. As I poured my soul into this project, I took no chances and saved my progress during every other step I took. As the deadline day finally arrived I was pressed for time and working until the last minute. I finally finished my project with 10 minutes to spare. As I prepared my powerbook to transfer my project onto our school lab's computer for class critique, I forgot one thing; to save my last step. Without warning my computer froze as did I. I tried everything to revive it and save my work but all was lost. I was devastated. Luckily my instructor was forgiving this time and allowed me an extended amount of time for a redo. When all was said and done, I learned a view things: remember to always save your work, keep enough free space on your computer, and always, always, always, back up your work on an external device!."
