Hardisk with a strange sound
"Loosing what needs not be lost. A long time ago before USB and CDRW's but only diskettes to save files, I heard a clanging sound inside my desktop pc and suddenly my computer will not boot at all.
It just hangs right after the initial screen and that sound does not
stop at all. I wondered what it was and opened the pc myself and found
out it was the hardisk that's making the sound. When I replaced the hardisk, everything went fine. The trouble is that I lost about half a year work inside my hardisk and really felt bad. Most of my files were digital pictures and music
that I gathered through time. Well, it can be replaced of course but I
would have to spend time looking around and downloading it to my
computer once more. Since then, I bought a second hardisk just so I have a backup of all my files.
It has been working then and the coming of USB storage sticks makes
backing up easier nowadays so I never had that mishap since then."
