Backup email messages
"A year ago I got up in the morning and as always went to check my email messages. I continued about my day and went back later to send out an email I forgot to send previously. My computer screen was blank and after trying to reboot my computer manually a couple of times I gave up. I took my hard drive over to the local computer store and had them look at it. They proceeded to tell me that my hard drive had crashed and the chances of getting anything off it were slim. I had several years of pictures of my children, dating back to when they were babies, stored on my hard drive. I was devastated! I found out that I should be replacing my hard drive every 5 years to prevent this from happening and also that I should have been backing up by copying to a CD or using an external hard drive. Needless to say I learned my lesson and bought an external hard drive. It was not terribly expensive and invaluable when I think of what can be lost when you don't back up your computer!! "
