Backup data every week
"Have a Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop that started acting weird (freezing, blue screens of death, long time to reboot) this went on for about 2 months, but still worked, except for the occasional glitch. Had a good friend and computer tech expert come over to my house to work on the computer. Well, should have backed up everything important (pictures, saved favorites, documents, extra added programs, etc.). Anyways turned out the Windows XP running program became corrupt, one entry by the computer tech friend and the whole system shut down and would not restart. Needless to say, Lost everything!!!!! Computer had to be completely reformatted. No data was capable of being saved. Learned my lesson on that one and back up all data every other week."
