Back up home computer
"The day I lost data on my USB Flash Drive was one of the most terrifying days of my academic career. I had just spent 4 hours writing a huge term paper for my American History course. When I finished the paper, I saved it to my flash drive, pulled the flash drive out, and left school. The next day I needed to print the paper, so I plugged in the drive, but nothing was there! I had lost all data on my flash drive including 2 term papers.
I lost the data by not ejecting the drive properly, instead I yanked out the drive while it was writing data. This was a gigantic percentage of my grade! I panicked, calmed down, then drank some coffee and typed as fast as I could to re-write the lost papers. I finished the papers, but my grades suffered. I was never able to recover everything on the drive. To avoid this, I now properly eject my flash drive every time, and also always back up every file on my home computer."
